Single tools are one-piece tools (monobloc tools). The monobloc tools mainly used on rotary tabletting machines in the European region are of the EURO B or D type, or the TSM B (IPT B) or D type common in the USA and Japan.

EURO B tools are also called “EU 19”; and EURO D tools are also known as “EURO 1-inch”, in reference to the shaft diameter (1 inch = 25.4mm).

EURO and TSM (IPT) tools are standard-compliant. Note that different tabletting machine makers differ slightly in their definition of this standard.

Besides EURO and TSM tooling there are types of tool developed by the tabletting machine makers themselves. Some of these tools facilitate extended dwell time and increased compression force and are suitable, for example, for producing large tablets, that is > 25 mm.
