The maximum compression force that may be applied to the tabletting punch depends primarily on the geometry of the tablet being pressed.
The following table gives the figures for tablet diameters from 3 to 20 mm. Changing from a flat/sharp-edged shape to a spherical shape entails a drastic decrease in the maximum permissible compression force.

The tablet drawings provided by Ritter Pharma-Technik give the maximum permissible compression force.
